About David Elbaum

David Elbaum has dedicated his professional life to the representation of individuals. After graduating with honors from Fordham University’s School of Law, he began his legal career in 2000 as a civil rights and Constitutional lawyer. David honed his litigation skills at Greenwald Christoph P.C., a law firm founded by noted Constitutional lawyer and journalist, Glenn Greenwald.

In 2006, David transitioned into practicing matrimonial and family law exclusively. David is highly experienced in all facets of matrimonial and family law practice, including matters of child custody, child and spousal support, and equitable distribution of assets. David’s background in accounting prior to his legal career gives him a fluency in complicated financial matters and a skillset particularly vital for clients with complex asset portfolios.

David is a staunch believer in the importance of understanding and helping clarify a client’s goals at the outset of representation so that a cost-effective, expeditious, and targeted strategy can be formulated. He welcomes a client’s active participation in their case and takes a collaborative approach. Ultimately, David measures his success by a client’s sense of security, confidence, and optimism that they carry forward into the next chapter of their life.

David is a member of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, and has been a member on its legislative subcommittee. He is also a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and has been a member of its Matrimonial Law Committee. David has been recognized by SuperLawyers® as one of New York’s premier practitioners of Family Law.
